“Wing Ding It!” Chester Historical Society’s 12th Creative Challenge

Once again, the Chester Historical Society is inviting anyone who likes a challenge to participate in its Creative Challenge linking history and creativity. Read about the history of our Creative Challenge here.

This year’s Creative Challenge is based on a product developed at Cable Prep of Chester about 20 years ago.

The “Wing Ding It!” Challenge wraps up with a silent auction and reception on Saturday, October 18, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Chester Meeting House

1. The Wing Dings and rings will be at the Chester Museum at The Mill (9 West Main St.) the weekend of Aug. 15-17 (Friday from 11 to 2; Saturday from 1 to 4; and Sunday from 10 to 4). Stop in to check them out!

2. Want some inspiration? We’re exhibiting a few favorite Challenge creations from the past that same weekend (Aug. 15-17) at the Museum. Remember last year’s Watch Out! Challenge?  Red Velvet Challenge? Square Roots? See some of the creations made by local artists for those past Challenges. They’re on loan to us for the weekend.

3. If you decide to take the Wing Ding It! Challenge, you can hand-select your colors of Wing Dings and rings to fill a sandwich baggie.

The fee (cash or check preferable, but we can take Venmo) is $30, which includes two tickets to the reception on Oct. 18.

4. You’ll have until Friday, Oct. 17 to create. We’ll need all creations to be dropped off at the Chester Meeting House on Oct. 17 between 3 and 6 p.m.

5. This is a fundraiser for the Chester Historical Society to preserve Chester history and maintain the Chester Museum at The Mill. It’s also a fun Saturday evening gathering.

6. Call Sosse Baker at 860-526-9822 or Cary Hull at 860-558-4701 if you have any questions or need to make other pick up/drop off arrangements.
